the factory we're welding in used to be a cornuts factory but now is home to the world leader in aquaculture feeds its pretty cool they have a testing labs and tanks with fish on different feeds to test growth rates and other things the company ships its feed all over the world it is special food that contains no animal matter but is still made for carniverous and herbiverous fish and has much less chance of carrying dangerous chemicals that could be found in animals from polluted environments and the food is used by many companys around the world (its used at epcot's living seas at disney world)

Welding? Coooooooool! That actually on my list of things I want to learn to do sometime. Along with pottery, making glass and glass blowing. I like things that can be utilitarian and art.
Cool about the fish food factory as well. less toxins in the food chain benefits us all. and not using animal mater in animal food is also definitely a good thing as well.

the welding isnt that difficult the equipment is really simple to use you just need to develope the proper technique and use proper safety
the fish feed company is really interesting the factory only requires a few people to run it even though its quite large its mostly automated and the research lab probably requires the largest amount of people the entire company has probably only 10-20 employees the feed is shipped all over the world and the feed can be talored to each individual group of fish with different vitamin and mineral levels etc. and they can do studies with small test groups for certains feeds and can even diagnose problems in the customers stock by testing the deceased fish in their research lab its very cool (and the guy said he might give us a factory tour sometime)

I have done some small lead welding. I built a motherboard and a rudimentary motion sensor, complete with alarm. Its very helpful for me. My brothers cant enter my room now without me knowing.
But... arc welding. Very cool!
Is it hard to learn?
