The "Common APE Questions" topic, which jwa mentioned, also says that you have to use some type of graphics program (such as Paint or Paintshop, among others) to change colors. That topic also gives a link to a "recoloring" guide, which says the same thing as well.

Good luck with your Omnicorn! :)

So I can just save a animation frame and put it into paint, then load it back up? ???
And how would i do new animations, i wanna make the omnicorn swim.
Thank you! It's a unicorn, but it'll be a different color and has 2 horns!

I have not used APE myself. But, yes, APE will split the animations into individual frames. Then you can use a graphics program such as Paint to change each frame or to add new frames. Then you would use APE to group those frames back into sets of animations. Adding a new set of animations (such as swimming) is similar. I suspect most animal creators that add a new set of animations probably copy one of the other sets of frames (such as the "walk" set) into a new folder. Then they use a graphics program to change these frames into the new action (such as swimming). And then they would use APE to put these new frames into a new set (such as swim). Since I don't create things myself, I can't give step by step instructions. Hopefully this overview is clear enough for you.

You cut off the horses legs  in it's walk animation and put ripples around it to represent water. Create a new animation, upload the "cells" into ape, then you have to manually program the swim animation into the uca. Pretty much what Jay said except for the amputation of the horses limbs. :XP:

Thanks! @_@ Hopefully I'll finish the Omnicorn and get it up on here! :)) It might be a little shoddy on the swim animation.

Well, you can only get better in time, right? I don't think there's a swimming horse download (I haven't come across any yet), so you'll be the first. Pathing the way for the rest of us. ;)

Inside the ".ztd" file, there is a file ending in ".uca". You need to add swim related things to this file using an editor such as Notepad. To see the types of things to add, I usually look at one of the Zoo Tycoon animals. (However, the Zoo Tycoon animals use ".ai" instead of ".uca".) In there, search for swim, Swim, Water, and Land. That will show you the types of things you need in your file.

APE does not make an efficient ".uca" file. You should also read the "Uca Editing Guide" in the "APE Editing & Tuorials" section within the "APE Questions" forum. That shows all of the things you should review/change in your ".uca" (and ".ztd") file.
