stumbled across this game
Zoo Empire

it is 3D like ZT2 and from descriptions seems very similar.

Unlike "Wildlife Park which never really took off, Zoo Empire is available now...

there is a downloadable demo at the site too.

I've seen that game around for about four months. The thing is that I've never heard anyone on the internet say anything about it. I wonder if it's any good?

EDIT: Oh, nevermind. I was thinking of a different game when I said "Four months". Ignore that.

Blah. I checked out the screenshots. Look at ZE013...if that little boy isn't naked, I'm blind. Why would I want a game with a naked child in it?

The colors are icky. I prefer the natural colors in ZT. The same with the rocks, trees, and buildings. They look like escapees from Fisher Price land.

I'll stick with ZT, thank you.

The boy is not naked (although I can understand your thought). If you click the thumbnail, you get a bigger picture. Then click that picture and you can an even bigger picture. In that largest picture you can see that the boy is wearing short pants and shoes/socks. I do not know why the clothes are the same color as the skin. Maybe you can color the clothes (although I did not see mention of that). Or maybe that means this person is "highlighted" and you are following him through the zoo.

The demo does not appear to exist yet. And of the 8 customer reviews at Amazon, several say it crashed their computer. I doubt that this will be a true ZT2 competitor.

Still, there are some interesting aspects. It allows creating train and boat rides through the zoo. It allows having animals perform tricks. Its memory requirement is less than ZT2. These things are enough that, if a demo becomes available, I would look at it closer.

I am with you, bluememaw. ZT is the zoo sim of choice IMO. As far as the 'nekkid' boy goes, it looks like it could go either way. To me the clothing outlines are vague and poorly rendered at best.

I think the overall graphics are just to childish.

I and bluememaw are both referring to images on the Zoo Empire web site. As for "Fisher Price land" , I believe bluememaw was trying to say that the colors in Zoo Empire do not look natural; there are much solid colors like what you would see on Fisher-Price toys.
