Twycross Zoo opened in 1963 on a site in Leicestershire in the UK. Initially it housed a comparatively modest collection, but it has grown into one of the major British zoos, attracting over 450,000 visitors a year. It is famous for its collection of primates. This year alone saw a fabulous new addition to the zoo's primate population in the form of a (second generation) newborn female Western Lowland gorilla :D
The zoo it's pretty darn mint, with large spaced enclosures, a great breeding and conservation programme and a stunning collection of primates, which make up a large proportion of the zoo's actual animal population.
