They are so cute and I can't wait to go watch them this spring. The Henry Vilas Zoo Madison Wisconsin

10.19.04 Update
Weight is the most reliable indicator of health. Based on the cubs' weights and visual inspection, the cubs appear to be doing well. Their weight is steadily increasing. Each has gained at least ½ pound since birth. All five cubs are now over three pounds. Three of the five weigh more than Themba at this time during his development. Henry & Vilas seem fine. They remain very attentive parents, and Vilas is showing clear maternal instincts. Themba is in an adjacent pen, and while a little surprised at first, is now interested in his new siblings.

Birth weights
Males
3lb 10oz
2lb 15oz
2lb 11oz

Females
3lb 2oz
2lb 12oz

10.28.04 Update
Keeper Shane Elsinger reports that all the cubs are between 5 ½ and 6 pounds, well ahead of where their older brother Themba was at this time in his development. He also notes that it is not easy trying to weigh all five cubs, as they are very active. Due to the fact that the well-being of the five cubs, Vilas, Henry, and Themba are all preeminent, and Shane is at the mercy of Vilas when it comes to access to the cubs, it may be difficult to get regular updates and photos of the cubs for the website. We will continue to do the best we can.

Yes, guys are most definitely allowed to say cute!!! ;)

Sorry to hear about your exams. But that doesn't mean you're a poor student....you are probably talented in many other ways. School isn't easy for everyone. Good luck the next time around.

i doubt you did too badly on them
we just took practice exams for the OGT (Ohio Graduation Test-that you have to pass to graduate for ohio high schools) they are new and my class is the first to have to take them for real (the class ahead of mine took them to "set the standards") the standards for them are so pointlessly low 45% is passing! (whereas 65% is passing for acctual school tests) the two ive gotten back so far were an 83% and a 91%-they really werent hard enough for the passing grade to be that low

those cubs are cute
the columbus zoo had 4 lions (1 male 3 females) forever and couldnt get them to breed so they went to a place with a better program (because at least the male maybe others are wild lions with important genes for the captive population) and got two cubs (who were a brother and sister about 3-4 months old) and they are now almost full-size (although the male hasn't really grown any sort of mane yet)
and now the zoo got a group of white lions that are pretty cool
i wish they would have cubs like that
