Zookeeper's Lounge

This week, I went to Lion Country Safari in Florida. Here is a very short synopsis.

Lion Country Safari is different than a zoo. You drive in your car along a 4 mile road, driving among different animals. They have rheas, llamas, gibbons, lions, ostriches, wildebeests, impalas, kudus, aoudads, mouflons, elands, african elephants, watusi (it was huge), waterbucks, nilgais, lechwes, blackbucks (I didn't realize how small these are), gemsboks, water buffalo, zebras, giraffes, chimpanzees, and rhinoceroses, plus a few other types of animals. Previously, I have been on Animal Kingdom's safari ride and Busch Gardens train ride, which also go among animals. In all three cases, there are times when you have to stop to wait for animals to get out of the way. Yet all three cases are different experiences. So I would recommend Lion Country Safari as a one-time experience. But it isn't something most would do more than once, like a zoo. It's also not as long an activity as a zoo. (Although it is much bigger than a typical zoo, it goes much faster, even though one is driving just 4 mph.)

theres a similar place in ohio called the wilds but you ride a tour bus instead of driving yourself and it includes white, black and one-horned rhinos, masai and reticulated giraffes, scimitar horned and some other oryx, bison, mountain zebra, bactrian deer and camels, prew. wild horses, moose, takin, pere davids deer, sable antelope, eland, and many others(but no carnivores) including local wildlife that go over under or through the fences

That really does sound cool, it makes ME want to go!
