Sharks Attacks Are Down

Here you can talk about real zoos and animal topics unrelated to the game.

I thought tiger sharks were responsible for most killing humans

A fact is a simple statement that everyone believes. It is innocent, unless found guilty. A hypothesis is a novel suggestion that no one wants to believe. It is guilty, until found effective.

Tigers. bulls and even makos cause most fatalities due to shark attacks. Occasionally a great white as well. Most bite and go away(threshers, nurses, etc.) The aggresive ones like the bulls, tigers and makos are the ones that bite and don't let go.

Although all those listed are very dangerous sharks and all are usually blamed for the most fatalities, I sort of thought the same thing Captain did. :? Tigers will eat about anything. There used to be numerous reports that some tigers had pieces of tires in their stomachs. Now that's getting pretty extreme when it comes to sharks' eating habits.

Tiger sharks are garbage eaters, in that they it anything that crosses their path. I'm pretty sure they are responsible for the majority of human fatalities due to shark attacks but the point I want to make is they are not the only ones who attack humans. Tigers have gained a bad rep but other sharks are just as responsible. Bottom line: sharks are dangerous but remember the ocean is their habitat and we are the intruders.

I knew that Tigers definitely aren't the only ones that attack humans. I was just referring to the fact that Tigers are usually held responsible for most fatalities. And yes, I agree on your conclusion. :)

there were even tiger sharks who killed people in the Ganges river
but I agree that they are not the only ones responsible for killing humans

I heard on the news that a guy down in Austrailia was bitten by a Woebegone/Carpet shark. Here's the catch. The guy couldn't get it off so he swam back onto the beach, got in his car and drove to the emergency room with the shark still attached to his leg. I don't know who gets more credit the guy for getting to the ER with the shark still attached or the shark for holding on. Go figure.
The shark was removed by flooding the gills w/ freshwater. The shark later died. And the man is doing okay.
