(On a sunny day you hop on those if you have bare feet as they are iron sands and get really hot. Most of our beaches on the west coast have iron sands. It was a quick run to get from your towel to the water for a swim without burning your feet. )

Ohope Beach (Just over the hill from Whakatane, East Coast, North Island, NZ. I lived both at the beach and in town for a while years ago. Used to love walking on the beach at night)
