Ben-Hur is an amazing movie. It's really long though, so you need to have a pretty long attention span to watch it. But you certainly should! It's a really cool story, and the acting is fabulous (Charleton Heston may be old now, but he's da bomb), and the movie is spectacular! Especially for 1959... So if you're free one day and wondering what to do with that a little over 3.5 hours of your afternoon, go rent or borrow that movie. I don't think you'll be disappointed

there are some really nice scenes in it and it gives you a good impression about the fascinating Roman Culture
